Marco Wellisch, born in Mainz/Germany
Marco was introduced to the world of music and DJing in particular in a youth center in Mainz. Impressed by bands like Kraftwerk, NWA, 2LifeCrew or many Artists of the NDW (NeueDeutsche Welle”. He quickly realized that electronic music had a special effect on him. For a while this fascination with breakdancing was pushed aside where the sounds of Grandmaster Flash, Man Parrish, Strafe, Planet Patrol, Afrika Bambaataa & The Soulsonic Force dominated his everyday listening.
At the end of 1991 he came into contact with purely electronic sounds for the second time. The vinyl piled up and after a few private sets it became clear that Marco had to move beyond the Mainz party scene. Hanging out in Frankfurt clubs like Dorian Gray or Omen made it easy for him to choose his musical style. In 1993 he made his first appearance as resident DJ, followed by appearances in and around Frankfurt until the mid-1990s. From there everything accelerated, with numerous club appearances in Germany, Ibiza, Holland, Japan as well as Switzerland and the USA.
The next few years were characterized by collaborations with many other artists such as Ramin Naghachian or G-Man/RaDiac, from which various projects and labels such as ParaMeta, 12Zoll and Neural Drift or music projects such as KlangBildErzeuger, paraSystem, BoxNoise and ElektroAsi emerged. These musical ventures covered everything from electro to techno, progressive to psychedelic trance. This colorful mix of styles is exactly to Marco's taste, so it's not surprising that his productions have appeared on such different labels as Phobiq, OxyTech, Hushed, KlangWild, Universal Music, BMG, 12Zoll Recordings, TIP Records, UTC WIRED, Drizzly and Spirit Zone. Plusquam Records, Zoned Recordings, Möhre Rekorder.
Towards the end of the 90s he finally moved to Frankfurt, where he actively pursued his vision as a DJ. In 2008 he moved to Berlin, where he still lives and works today.Marco founded the event agency KlangWild in Berlin, which was transformed into the KlangWild music label on December 21, 2012 and focuses on electronic dance Music. Meanwhile, Marco has developed a whole range of new projects, including Aixo, SimN, Workn and MarsMadeMan. In 2023, the ElektroAssi project was reactivated and renamed - ElektroAssi is now. "EA". 2021 he founded a new label "Aqumn" a label that, in contrast to KlangWild, is only dedicated to deep techno. Wellisch's musical focus can now be clearly defined as Progressive Techno / TechHouse.
From time to time there are also very chilled and downbeat orinterted tracks such as on the "Möhre Rekorder" which organizes a festival the "WildeMöhreFestival". After the cinema debut WIldezeiten "Techno ist System Relevant" came Marco's passion for experimental downbeat’s and Movie Music "SoundTracks" to appear.
